Art Bergquist has been involved with computers since 1978 (anyone remember Hollerith cards?!).
He worked for IBM in the 1980's programming in REXX and APL on IBM mainframes. In the late 80's, he switched over to PC software development. After working in dBASE IV, he has written applications in every version of the Fox from
FoxPro DOS 2.0 and is currently developing in
Visual FoxPro 9.
He has authored articles and tips in
Fox Talk and
FoxPro Advisor (and has also tech-edited articles for
FoxPro Advisor) and has been a presenter at the
FoxPro Developers Network Of San Diego (where he serves on the board as
Vice-President), the Orange County (CA)
FoxPro Developers Group,
Essential Fox 2002 conference (Kansas City), Southwest Fox 2004 conference (Tempe, AZ) and the Midwest
FoxPro Users Group (Kansas City). In addition, he has conducted
Visual FoxPro training classes.
He is a
Microsoft Certified Professional and works at

Visionpace (he worked with with
Drew Speedie from January 1999 until the untimely death of Drew and his son Brent on 9/16/2005 ...
Drew Speedie Tragedy) and develops applications in and has enhanced
Visual Maxframe Professional (Versions 4/5/2002/2003/2004/2005); he also employs
Stonefield Database Toolkit in his development.
He also presented at
Max Teach, the first ever one-day conference for VMP developers, held in conjunction with the 3rd Annual
Southern California Visual FoxPro Conference (
www.mesllc.com/conf99.html) as well as at
Max Teach 2000 (held in conjunction with GLGDW, November 2000, Milwaukee, WI). In addition, he led the entire
Max Start 2001 seminar at
DevCon (September 2001) as well as the
Max Start 2002 seminar at
Essential Fox 2002.

On April 6, 2006, he officially took over maintenance of
VMP for Visionpace.
