Code reuse, the most common kind of reuse, refers to reusing code within sections of an application and potentially across many applications.
At best, code reuse is accomplished by sharing classes or collections of functions and procedures. At worst, code reuse is accomplished by Copy And Paste Reuse.
Pros: Code reuse reduces the amount of code you have to write and maintain, which potentially reduces both development and maintenance costs.
Cons: The scope of code reuse is limited to programming and it often increases the Cou Pling within an application.
There is no con to good code reuse. If it increases Loose Coupling in the application that too is good. The con would be Copy And Paste Reuse increasing bad coupling in the application. -- Mike Yearwood
