DevCon 6 was January 14-17, 1995 at the San Diego Convention Center. This DevCon was characterized by the launch of VFP version 3.0, a beta of which was given to all attendees.
I remember it was freakin' cold in San Diego that year, and that the Stars and Stripes America's Cup compound was across the street. -- Steven Black
The speaker dinner was at Miramar the home of Top Gun. It was cool being able to climb over F14's in the hangar and have dinner with the pilots. -- Rod Paddock
I remember a hitherto macho F-14 pilot taking his proper place in the pecking order after he asked Brian Jones, none too interestedly, "So, what is it you do?"-- Steven Black
This was my first DevCon and the highlights were getting blown into left field with finally *seeing* VFP 3.0 (the beta was on my desk when I returned and the rest is history) and getting wasted with Tom Rettig (first time I'd met him F2F). -- Steve Sawyer

I remember that night in Tom's room. You and I had a very deep technical discussion about persistent relations. -- Jim BoothOffsite link to http://www.jamesbooth.com
This DevCon featured a night out at the San Diego Aquarium with Tamar Granor getting up close and friendly with one of the killer whales. -- MarkCayer
This was the "Taking you to the Extreme" event. The opening session had fireworks and even a band ( with Microsoft SVP Roger Heinen on guitar) with a special VFP song. The main binder weighted 3.85 kg! -- wOOdy
Don't forget [how unstable beta3 really was] the town was going gaga over the Chargers going to the Super Bowl (and the natives complaining because Pittsburgh was warmer that week than SD). -- Mikel Moore

And this week Pittsburgh is STILL warmer than SD! -- Barbara Peisch
That was my second Devcon, and I coordinated the Foxgang party next door at the Hyatt. It was the same night as the speaker's dinner, so the speakers didn't get to the party until it was pretty much over. -- Barbara Peisch
Doug Dodge and Whil Hentzen gave an unauthorized after-hours session on Specifications.
Brian Jepson, then at Prosoft with Drew Speedie, was handing out a white paper on "Visual FoxPro, the Internet and You," showing HTML and Perl interacting with DBFs. Imagine that! -- tr
And who could forget the Fox Gang Flag flying in front of the Marriot, courtesy of Norm Weil? -- Ed Leafe
You're all forgetting the most memorable event of that conference -- the infamous "Eldor scam", in which Whil Hentzen, Leslie Koorhan, and I (with a major assist from my wife Peggy) convinced Eldor that the Advisor party that year had strippers. Those interested in the full story should attend a conference some time (finally, a compelling reason!) and ask me about it.
