There is a market of VFP developers in Spain and Latin America that are hungry for Conferences, books and materials in Spanish. The same is true for Brazil (in Portuguese) and - I suspect - for other languages.
There are regular Conferences in Europe in German and other languages, but nothing of this caliber in Spanish.
(And this is odd, insofar as the Microsoft Spanish VFP newsgroups are very active).
John Koziol and
Alex Feldstein are seriously trying to get some sessions in Spanish, over and above what is said in the regular sessions in English at next
DevCon 12. After some talks, there is interest in the part of the organizers to add maybe a bonus session or a pre-conference on Sunday (the format is still unclear at this early stage).
If you are Spanish speaking and would be interested in attending these sessions, please make yourself be heard.

Wouldn't it make more sense to schedule a mostly-Spanish conference in a Spanish-speaking country? After all, the German
DevCon is in Germany and the Czech
DevCon (the 2nd largest VFP conference in the world) is in the Czech Republic? In the second case, a local company works with the local Microsoft office to put the thing together.

No it wouldn't in this case. Spanish-speaking countries are spread out between Spain and most of North, Central and South America, from Mexico on south. The lower cost for these people to travel to the USA instead of any other country is significant. -- Alex Feldstein

La verdad. Roundtrip Caracas to Miami, for example, is $99. Roundtrip from other Latin American cities to Orlando is also cheap (Disney World). I'm not sure what the cost is to San Diego or Scottsdale, but discount fares from Latin cities to US cities are quite common. --

Alex and John, please count me in! Let see if we can get support from Microsoft's Ricardo Wenger from Venezuela!!!
Ricardo danos una ayuda para nuestros hermanos Latinos! Como hemos hablado antes. Esto puede ser un mercado muy atractivo. Cuenta con nuestra ayuda.
Ricardo Garcia -- FL
Saludos from Ricardo. Let me know what I can do to help on this. I cannot organize it myself because Microsoft doesn't organize conferences. I can have good conversations with people from Advisor or the other conferences if you have ideas on where to start. I'm in!!!

I think
Les Pinter has done conferences in Spain....
Time ago, we in GUFE (Grupo de Usuarios de Foxpro en Espaņa), did some annual conferences in Madrid, but now I think there are no more conferences here. But good to hear this! If you need support or anything count on me.

Saludos a todos! Kansas City might not be the cheapest city but I would love to help even if the event is held in another city. --
