Just a brief note to inform any Fox developers in Melbourne, Australia that a local Fox user group has started (or been rekindled to be more exact).

2 meetings have taken place, the most recent being 10 Sept 2002 and a meeting was also held at the Microsoft offices on the same day.

Andrew Coates presented 2 informative sessions on new features in VFP 7 and managing SQL Server from VFP (available at http://www.civilsolutions.com.au/publications.htm) and hopefully his enthusiasm (and perhaps wisdom/knowledge) will carry over into the user group.

If any Melbourne developers want information on the timing of the next meeting or wish to be emailed materials presented at any meeting so far contact Michael Ahern.

There is also a user group starting up in Sydney. Anyone interested should contact Andrew Coates.

Update (October 2004): The Melbourne Visual FoxPro User Group now meets on the last Wednesday of every month. They combine with the Sydney VFP User Group via webcast. Details are available at www.svfpug.com.au
