New Track MC SD

Namespace: DotNet
To obtain an MCSD on the "new track", you must pass 70-100, two core exams such as 70-155 and 70-156, and an elective.

If you haven't completed the requirements and are not McSD yet, please don't sign until done.
Rumor has it there are 23 24 25 26 33 34 35 37 38 VFP MCSDs...

There are a couple articles in the current MCP mag that mention that there will no longer be VFP exams offered in the new .NET MCSD track. The attitude of the writers was "There weren't very many people who took those exams anyway" and "Back when Microsoft bought Fox software, MS asked the FoxPro community if they were interested in FP certification tests. The FP community said 'we don't need no stinkin certifications'. Well, now they got their wish.". It's too bad, I felt kind of good about having my MCSD with VFP. - William Fields

The MCSD track with VFP is not being retired. You will still be able to get that certification. The new track is .Net specifc and since VFP is not a .Net language, it makes sense that it will not be included. The magazine article is correct in saying not many people have taken the VFP exams. -- Craig Berntson

* Kelly did pass both VFP exams too. He was just impatient, so they didn't count toward the MCSD. By jumping the gun, he did become one of the first 1000 "New Track MCSDs", scoring a lucite paperweight from MS.

** JCF took the unusual route of taking one VFP and one VB exam for his core.

10/29/02 I was once an MCSD with a FoxPro certification. But all but my SQL Server 6.5 exam have been retired. Kenn Leland
