Quick Silver

Namespace: People

I loved Quick Silver....it was reasonably fast, compiled in less space than Clipper (a valid concern in the diskette days), and -- yes -- you could do all sorts of things on a Novell network. -- John Koziol

Quick Silver was the WordTech System's excellent dbxl compiler, with a very rich user interface ( at the time :-)) ) as well as an impressive set of networking functions. -- Jaime

Actually, Quick Silver was WordTech's original (dBASE III) compiler. It was the predecessor to their Arago (dBase IV compatible) compiler which was compatible with their DBXL interpreter. -- Ray Kirk

Didn't Quick Silver have as one of it's 'claims to fame' the ability to have the 'engine' stay resident in memory? -- Doug Dodge
