Sharing Violation Retries

Namespace: WIN_COM_API
According to a thread running on both the Universal Thread.com and Foxite.com ThomasGanss told FrankCazabon that the registry setting Sharing Violation Retries can make a performance boost when more than one user accesses file(s) on the server.

FrankCazabon reported a significant increase for his application.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\SharingViolationRetries

This reference says it works: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889588

There are related parameters which seem to take effect if Sharing Violation Retries is nonzero: SharingViolationDelay and SharingViolationTimeout.
