Stress Testing

Namespace: WIN_COM_API
A place to discuss stress testing.
Stress testing is testing that ensures the system performs as expected under a high volume of transactions, high number of users, and so on. Also referred to as load testing. (Source: Object Testing Patterns)

Load Testing and Volume Testing are types of Stress Testing
Things to consider during load testing:
  • ...logs into the network at the same time.
  • ...gets into the application at the same time.
  • ...runs the same test scripts.
  • ...hits save simultaneously.
  • ...does a heavy refresh simultaneously.
  • ...tries to edit the same record simultaneously.
  • ...runs a variety of queries simultaneously.
  • ...starts a difficult search simultaneously.
  • ...tries to list many items simultaneously.
