Test Scaffolding

Namespace: WIN_COM_API

A Test Scaffolding is a member of a Test Friendly Environment which simulates the environment provided by the running application. The Test Scaffolding permits you to do Class Testing without necessarily needing to execute the full-blown application. A good test scaffolding can reduce the time required for testing from several minutes to just a few seconds.

For example, a Test Scaffolding for a CodeBook development environment might include instancing an object stub named goApp, and a few other things, such that your interface, business, and data access objects can be conveniently tested by fooling them into thinking they are within the application.

Most VFP Frame Works could do a better job of making the erection of Test Scaffolding easier. In particular, test scaffolding is commonly hampered by excessive Coupling.
