A set of Windows Application Program Interface functions
The current versions of Windows provide a 32-bit graphical, multi-tasking, networked operating system. Microsoft publishes a Software Developers Kit (SDK).
The core SDK Application Programming Interface (API) covers an extremely broad area providing the following interfaces:
Input and output devices:
Mouse, keyboard, pen, screen, printer, and sound.
User interface elements:
Windows, menus, dialogs, input widgets, the clipboard, and internationalisation functions.
Files, memory, hardware, system databases, and networking.
Bitmaps, fonts, drawing primitives, area management functions), and 3D graphics rendering.
